Abstract


nowadays laptops are indispensable both for students and for office workers because of their advantages compared to desktop computers. the most dominating need for this is the need for information. manufacturers create laptops with various brands in circulation such as apple, asus, acer, dell, lenovo, hp, and other brands with different types and qualities. The purpose of this research is to apply clusterig process using fuzzy c-means algorithm in the form of laptop brand data and apply fuzzy c-means algorithm to laptop usage data to students in bandar lampung area into 3 clusters that are very good, good, enough in terms of technology needs.The result of this study is the statistics of membership degrees have a cluster size of 1 as much as 86 or 26.62 % of the total number of members, cluster 2 as much as 120 or 37.16 % of the total number of members and cluster 3 as much as 117 or 36.22 % of the total number of members.
