Abstract

In facing the era of society 5.0, education plays an important role in developing creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration for the current generation. Technologically, social, economic, political, and educational aspects involve online interaction. This topic is worth discussing in language studies, especially discourse analysis on social media. Using social media applications as a new form of communication is becoming increasingly simple and popular. One of the most popular social media apps is Facebook where people can connect each other, obtain information, give some opinions about it, and even share it with others. In fact, people can become famous just by posting their activities. Likewise, a Facebook account named "Rangga Babuju" account from Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, can reach more than thirty thousand followers . This account is very updated to respond to global and regional issues. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the posts and comments on the Facebook account of this local inspirational figure. The research data was taken from screenshots of other Facebook accounts and analyzed using a discourse analysis (DA) approach. There are several aspects of discourse that must be considered: (a) text, it describes different representational practices, socio-cultural and symbolic ways of seeing things like captions on photos and videos; (b) context, all communicative situations related to context; (c) Action and interaction, the posts had the impact of real actions for various parties and led to social interaction (d) Unconsciously, Indonesian netizens have been learning about high order thinking skills through Facebook.
