Abstract


Oral literature is inseparable from society. Learning oral literature in universities experienced obstacles during the COVID-19 pandemic, making it possible to use digital media as an answer to conducting research. This paper provides an analysis of oral literature research by applying literary reception studies in the digital era. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, the data in this study are the results of interviews and oral literary texts with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and literature analysis. The data validation technique used was theory triangulation and data sources. The data analysis technique used the Parry and Lord's structural analysis model. The results of this study are (1) a synopsis of oral literature that has a story structure in terms of structural specs (2) Analysis of the two variations of the story that emerged as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, (3) the function of oral literature for the surrounding community.
