Abstract

This study discusses the cardiovascular endurance training model to increase the VO2max of soccer players. The aim of this cardio research is to determine cardiovascular improvement through the application of an endurance training model with soccer ball players aged 14-17 years. This research applies an experimental method using the One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The sample in this study was 30 Bintang Utara Star Pratama Soccer School’s players. A total of 30 players who were actively practicing and were not injured from all Bintang Utara Pratama Soccer School’s players. Based from the results of the study, it was found that the application of the vascular endurance training model with the ball had a significant effect on the level of VO2max, this result can be proven from the calculation of the obtained data.

The results showed that the average VO2max in the pre-test was 36.9 ml/kg/min and 38.4 ml/kg/minute in the post-test. Based on the normality test of the pre-test data, it was obtained that x2 tables bigeer than x2count (9.488 > 2.8319) and post-test (9.488 > 3.2628), so the data were normally distributed. The calculation of the difference in the average VO2max test before and after being given the cardiovascular endurance exercise model with the ball obtained t value of 10.4 and the value of t table with a significance level of 0.05 with df = 19 is 2.093. Because t value is bigger than t table (10.4 > 2,093), then H0 is rejected, which means there is a difference in the average VO2max before and after the implementation of the cardiovascular endurance exercise model with the ball.
