Language has the widest unit sentence, which consists of clause, phrase, words, even letters. Words in every language always develop over time, and the number of them also increases. As a consequence, every language provides new words. There are many ways in which words are created, such as inflection, derivation, and compounding. This research is focused on compounding words to answer the following questions: (1) What types of compound words occur in the life and style columns of Jakarta Globe article? (2) How the English compound words are formed in the life and style columns of Jakarta Globe article?. The data of the research is taken from an article entitled “Designers of the Runaway as Jakarta Fashion Weeks Takes off” from life and style column in Jakarta Globe. In addition, the data also reflect the use of English compound words.
