Abstract
Abstract The background of this research is because of the researchers' curiosity about the use of language and gender in a region. Researchers took the area of Indramayu Regency, because this area has characteristics that are interesting to study. Indramayu Regency is included in the north coast of West Java Province. This north coast has a characteristic language. The reason the researcher took the language (register) of the teacher was because the researcher came from a teacher training and educational science faculty. Then, the theory in this study draws on sociolinguistic, semantic, gender, and educational theories that come from various literatures, both offline and online. The research method in this research is descriptive analysis which is assisted by the study of documentation, literature, and the results of interviews from various high school teachers in the field if possible, remembering that it is still in a pandemic era. Finally, the findings from the results of this study are that the researchers obtained data in the form of registers that are often used by high school teachers based on gender. Of course there are differences in the data which is then processed by the researcher in the form of a table of the results of the analysis.Keywords: high school, gender, register, teacher
