Abstract
The objectives of this study are to describe the condition English reading tasks for learning reading in Junior High School and the school potention to develop the worksheet, to describe to what extent the multicultural-based reading tasks appropriate to the student’s reading development, to describe the effectively of the use of multicultural-based reading tasks for learning reading, to describe the students’ perception toward the implementation of multicultural-based reading tasks, to describe the teacher’s input toward the implementation of multicultural-based reading tasks and to describe the experts input toward the implementation of multicultural-based reading tasks. The research methodology used was research and development. Questionnaire, interview and observation were used for collecting the data. The result of the research shows that Multicultural - Reading Tasks for learning reading have been developed based on the students’ need and characteristics, reading ability theories, and the corrections and suggestion from the experts and from the students.
