EFL LECTURERS’ PERCEPTION ON PARAGRAPH WRITING MATERIALS BASED ON EGRA TECHNIQUES

Abstract


One of the subject at University level is Paragraph Writing. This subject  points to prepare students the knowledge and understand about writing and composing correct paragraphs, utilized the rules of composing writing and linguistic use. Students learn to express ideas in a paragraph based on the genre of writing is taught. This study was finished to the English foreign language lecturers’ perception of Paragraph writing materials based on EGRA technique. This study was conducted in the English Education Department, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar and the subject of the research was two lecturers. In order to get the data, the researcher applied descriptive qualitative research and were given the questionnaires to the lecturers as the instrument. The material has been finished using the steps of EGRA are Experience, Generalization, Reinforcement and Application. The result showed of the lecturers perception on the paragraph writing materials based on EGRA technique was positive and the material appropriate with the curriculum, the students need and assisted the lecturer teach effectively in the classroom.
