Abstract
Women as symbols of mystical power in folklore, legends, and myths are too classic in Indonesia. Several female mythological figures that are considered to have strength and power include Nyi Roro Kidul, Nyi Blorong, and Calon Arang, whose names are so down to earth. Then in 2022, through the “KKN di Desa Penari” film, there is another popular mythological figure, namely Badarawuhi, or called Dawuh or the Dancer. The “KKN di Desa Penari” film is the result of the transformation of literary works in the form of a novel with the title “KKN di Desa Penari” by. This article is a form of feminist literature approach that highlights the moment of mixing between culture and literature, where the study of mythology and feminism is partly able to divert the issue of patriarchy in Eastern culture. Methodologically, the functionalist paradigm of feminism in this film discusses the conflict in a society, myths about women in power, social integration, and balance. The results show that this film does not release the domination of the power of female characters in stereotypes and sensuality.
