Politeness strategies is the subject matter in conversation either communicate nor interact with others. It can defined as a communication ways among members or friends with means to convey the goals of his speech as politely. Communication ways can done in oral or written. One of these talkshow is Jimmy Kimmel talk show. Therefore, researchers makes interested to observe the politeness strategies in the talkshow and to know the factors of influence politeness strategies in social status variables. This research uses qualitative research that are proposed by Brown and Levinson theory. The data was taken from the dialog between Jimmy Kimmel and Kanye West about trending topic in the Era of Donald Trump, also about Kanye West’s life. From the result of this research shows that there are three politeness strategies by Brown and Levinson’s theory (1987), Bald on Record (1), Positive Politeness (11) and Negative Politeness (2). Jimmy Kimmel and Kanye West use positive politeness strategy to satisfy the hearer’s positive face by expressing and interest hearer’s wants to be respected. In addition also, there are two factor of influence politeness strategies in social factors, power and social distance.
