This research is entitled Freudian Perspective on the Main character in Before I Fall Novel by Lauren Oliver. Samantha is the main character in this novel that was forced to go through repeated days after she had a car accident, there is continuous changing of Samantha’s personality during the repeated days she had to go through. It is seen that the main character  experienced various types of turmoil in her life ranging from pressure to sadness. Hence, the author believes that, the continuous changing of Sam’s personality and behavior can be analyzed with Freudian psychoanalysis. Hence, it is expected that this research can give deeper explanation to the readers of how psychological elements take a role in human’s personality, especially as seen in the main character of Before I Fall novel. To strengthen research on literary psychology, the author uses psychology of literature as a study that focuses on the psychology of characters in a novel. To be more specific, the author used a theory namely psychoanalysis, that allows the author to explain the psychological aspects of the main character.. The author also uses a qualitative descriptive method for her research because this method helps author in collecting data and information related to the topic of discussion.
