The life of a society will continue to develop in accordance with human nature as social beings. This development will give rise to a habit, tradition, civilization, and culture. This study aims to describe the representation of changes in language and culture through greetings in dangdut song lyrics. In this study, the authors chose song lyrics as a means to explore the culture of a society. The data in this study are fifty dangdut song lyrics obtained through song lyrics, internet, and vcd scripts. The source of the data comes from a literature study in the form of song lyrics text on cassette covers, internet, and vcd. The data collection method was taken by purposive sampling, namely songs that were famous in their time. The data collection technique used by the author is the free-of-conversation listening technique. That is, the author does not participate in the making of the song, but only listens to the songs that are played through the VCD cassette. After the data is collected and ready to be used, the last step is to analyze the data. The data were analyzed using a sociolinguistic approach to terms of address.

As a result, there are significant differences in the type of greeting between the song lyrics from the 1990s to the 2000s. Based on the change in greeting, it is implied that the lexical greeting used in dangdut song lyrics has changed from year to year which is influenced by a touch of western culture.
