Marx Principles on Social Stratification as Seen in Disney's Renaissance Period Movie

Abstract
This research aims to discuss Marx principles on social stratification that was experienced by the main character in Disney’s Renaissance Period Movies. The objective of this study is to find out the reflection of Marx principle on social stratification created by Disney’s movie productions in the Disney’s Renaissance period movies, especially in Aladdin (1992) and Beauty and the Beast (1991). This research used descriptive qualitative method to describe and explain the data. The researcher collected the data in the form of dialogues, quotes, images, and narrations from the main data resource taken from the movies, which is Aladdin (1992) and Beauty and the Beast (1991). To support the data this research used books, articles, and journal to supporting the main data. And to find the result, the researcher used The Principle of Marxist Theory by Karl Marx to deal with social stratification that occurs in society. The theory helps the researcher to find a deeper understanding of social stratification. The result of this research shows that the reflection of Marx principle on social stratification in Disney’s Renaissance Period Movies have a storyline that is in line with Karl Marx’s idea (1818-1883) which is illustrates the social conditions that occurred at that time. The result also shows that unequal relationship between classes through the Marxist theory of Principles.
