Abstract
Realistic Mathematics is related to Mathematical Literacy. The problems tested to measure mathematical literacy are related to real problems with the aim of testing students' abilities in choosing, comparing, and evaluating appropriate problem-solving strategies from real problems. Based on this, a realistic mathematics education approach can be one solution to overcome the low mathematical literacy score of 15-year-old Indonesian students based on PISA scores. This paper aims to present the results of the analysis of the development of mathematical material compiled in a book using a realistic mathematics education approach. The method used to carry out the analysis using qualitative research types using data from literature studies. The results of the analysis show that there are several main components in the preparation of mathematical material with a realistic mathematical approach including: setting the cover page of the material (book), the availability of a concept map, an inspiration page that displays mathematical figures, an overview of the contents of the book, the content section related to the explanation of the material: algebra using a realistic mathematical approach, activity questions that contain student activities when studying the material, competency test questions to measure student understanding, and project questions to test students' ability to solve real problems.
