The method used is descriptive method by examining proverbs associated with elements of moral education. The findings showed that the proverbs discussed in this article contained moral teachings that could be used as a student character education tool. One example of the proverb "like a dog gets a carcass" means that a very greedy person can easily get objects. In this proverb teaches moral education not to be greedy. Usually the impact of this greed will have an impact on the perpetrator who does the negative thing in the proverb. The expected impact of this study is that language learning can contribute to character education for students. Therefore, language education is not only limited to the delivery of material, but must have a meaning that indirectly provides a positive attitude change for students. This is because the language and characters are highly correlated. Therefore, moral content in language and culture learning must be able to make a positive contribution to educational goals, namely maturing attitudes and changing character. The exploration of the moral system in a proverb can be used as a continuous learning material, meaning that the content of the material presented must be sustainable with educational elements, namely cognitive, affective, and psychomotor.
