Abstract
One of the limitations of tertiary institutions in managing new study programs is the lack of teaching materials causing students need to look for them outside the classroom. Learning process in mathematics education study program has not applied Project Based Learning (PjBL) based teaching materials. The aims of this study were (1) to describe the characteristics of the teaching materials for the basic statistics courses on the Central Tendency topic based on PjBL. (2) to obtain Basic Statistics Teaching Materials for PjBL Central Tendency topic that meet the appropriate criteria. (3)to know the use of PjBL-based Basic Statistics Subject Teaching Materials for students' creative thinking skills.
This is a research and development research. The teaching material development model used is the PPE model with three stages, namely Planning, Production, and Research. The results of this study are (1) Basic Statistics Subjects for Project-Based Learning Central Tendency Subjects have characteristics, namely the learning steps in teaching materials are adjusted to the PjBL-based learning steps, integrating creative thinking skills at each stage.(2) Teaching materials are categorized as feasible according to the validation results from material experts, media experts, and lecturers. (3) the use of Basic Statistics Teaching Materials for Project-Based Learning Central Tendency Subjects can improve students' creative thinking skills include four aspects, namely aspects of fluency, flexibility, authenticity, and detail. The result of the N-gain calculation shows a value of 0.54 and it is in the medium category.
