Abstract


The implementation of the use of technology in education in Indonesia changes the learning paradigm from face-to-face to distance learning by utilizing technology. The advancement of technology in the era of Education 4.0 which is characterized by the use of digital technology in the learning process or known as the cyber system is able to make the learning process take place continuously without time and space limits. This is the basis of research carried out by developing Distance Learning in the Pandemic Period using the Coaching Technique in learning personality development as an effort to improve students' public speaking skills. Through the distance learning model and the implementation of coaching techniques in communication, students are invited to have the ability to think critically, creatively and innovatively. Furthermore, the application of systematic question and answer following the TIRTA flow pattern that is focused on a single focus of student self-development motivation is expected to build communication skills and abilities. Through cooperation and high confidence in utilizing technology in learning in the form of LMS and conference platforms, it can run smoothly. Thus, the results of the implementation of coaching techniques in distance learning are expected to be able to develop students themselves in an effort to improve public skills in order to have competitiveness in facing society 5.0. The study was conducted referring to the six steps of developing the ASSURE model; Analyze Learners, States Objectives, Select Methods, Utilize Media and Materials, Require Learner Participation, and Evaluate and Revise. The implementation of learning is seen based on the results of measuring the effectiveness of learning using 3 scales of Very Good, Good and Fail and an assessment of the implementation of learning activities through a questionnaire. The development of a distance learning model that is carried out online using the Online Learning System (SPADA) of the University of Teknokrat Indonesia as well as syncronous learning utilizing the teleconference platform. The research object was the students of the Indonesian Technocrat University who took the Personality Development course and the subject of public speaking. The results of the study obtained a distance learning model that was carried out online to display students' public speaking skills, communication skills using coaching techniques and the ability to use information technology as a communication tool.
