Abstract

Most students nowdays have smart phone on their hands. Smart phone helps them to do many things, such as playing games, chatting or just browsing. The development of smart phone technology has influenced their lives especially on their classroom activities. Smart phone has grabbed their attention. Consequently, the students are less focus on the learning process especially in English language learning. In addition, they have lack interaction with their peers. As the smart phone developed, there must be a solution for the students to overcome their problem. Integrating smart phone in English language learning can be an alternative way to improve the students’ English language interest. One of smart phone application that can be used is WhatsApp. This study will attempt to give an alternative on optimalizing the function of smart phone in learning English for business. This study presents activities that lead students achieve the purpose of learning English for business. WhatsApp is found as an effective smart phone application that support the English language learning. Integrating WhatsApp can be easy, fun and enjoyable. Students even have positive feelings toward Whatsapp usage.
