Thus, the author uses van Dijk's critical discourse analysis approach that focuses on elements of social cognition. Van Dijk (1997) explains that the features of social cognition are divided into four schemes, namely the person scheme, self scheme, role scheme, and event scheme. This study uses a qualitative approach that utilizes linguistic data to see that this research raises linguistic aspects in its application. Based on the data findings, the social schema analysis of Irwan Prayitno shows a connection between the reality of the Minangkabau socio-cultural aspects with the profile or life history of Irwan Prayitno.
