Abstract
Everyone is obliged to get education, from the upper and lower classes, normal children and children who have limitations. For teachers teaching normal children is a common thing, but here the teacher plays an important role in learning. Teachers are emphasized to be more patient and have more models and variations of learning, so that the ABK students who are taught do not experience boredom. One of the lessons is adaptive physical education. Adaptive physical education is an education that includes children who have mental and physical limitations in which there are basic movement skills, fitness, movement patterns that are adapted to the needs of the ABK. Mental retardation is a condition in which a child has mental limitations with an IQ below the average normal child. For people with intellectual disabilities, the most suitable activity is sports games. Sport is very suitable because it has a very good aspect for the body and is able to increase the basic manipulative movements of children with moderate mental retardation. A suitable sport is using a large ball, where the ball is modified in such a way that the mentally retarded child can play with pleasure, besides the use of this game modification is very influential when the child has a sense of fun and excitement while doing this activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of modified large ball sports on the interest and pleasure of moderately mentally retarded children. The method we use is by giving questionnaires to students and teachers. With a sample of 20 students and 5 teachers, it is hoped that this research can run smoothly
