This study aims to identify the dominance and use of forms or types of vocabulary related to Covid-19 in Japanese. The data sources were taken from seven YouTube channel accounts from Indonesia and Japan which focused on various forms of language or vocabulary types for Covid-19 terms in Japanese, such as wago, kango, and gairaigo. Data were collected by observation method, and analyzed by a distribution method. The results showed that the terms or vocabulary related to Covid-19 in Japanese that were conveyed by the seven YouTube channel accounts were dominated by the phrases shingata korona uirusu, otearai, masuku, and hatsunetsu as the most popular or most mentioned terms or vocabulary. It can be understood that the public, not only Japanese themselves, but also foreigners living in Japan, are aware of the importance of understanding the development of the Covid-19 pandemic condition that is happening in their country. In terms of the form or type of Japanese vocabulary used for mentioning various terms or vocabulary related to Covid-19, it is dominated by the use of kango rather than gairaigo and wago. It can also be understood that kango with its kanji letters is a script that is widely used in various aspects of life in all fields. However, it is possible that kango can be used together with wago and gairaigo in one word or a phrase that is often found in terms of special fields, such as medical, technology, and so on so that its use becomes commonplace in Japanese.
