Development of Digital Literacy-Based Flipped Classroom Model for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

Abstract
Abstract Digital literacy (DL) has become a central issue of the education field, especially as the COVID-19 crisis has forced school closures during the pandemic. As distance learning solutions were implemented to ensure education continuity, DL is the prerequisite skills of effective distance learning. This study aimed to develop a Digital Literacy-Based Flipped Classroom Model for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. This research employed five stages of The ADDIE approach and conducted at the Islamic Faculty of Muhammadiyah University, Lampung. Data were collected through interviews, observations, checklists, and questionnaires. Based on UNESCO Digital Literacy assessment criteria, at the need analysis stage, it found that student’s digital literacy was at a moderate level on the access and use component. To create a component, it found that students were at a low level. Therefore, this study recommends integrating DL into the teaching and learning process to foster students' DL
