Abstract


This paper explores the use of TED (technology, Entertainment, and Design) Talk in enhancing English learners’ listening skill, especially in ESL. Listening is a receptive skill in language learning in which teachers and learners meet the challenges. The limited and authentic materials provided, and learners’ lacks of motivation frequently become the issues that hamper the learning process. However, nowadays, learners can take advantages of using the digital products of internet to overcome the problem. This paper aims to describe why and how TED Talk is a suitable supplement material to enhance learners’ listening skills. The characteristics of TED Talk and the notion of ESL learners make TED Talks the effective supplement materials for listening to improve learners’ comprehension level.
