Abstract

Primary school learning is one of the levels that must be considered, especially in improving the quality of the students and teachers. Basic schooling is a determinant of the student's mindset at the next level, especially concerning learning media in the learning process. Teaching media or tools are all physical devices which can show a message and stimulate students to learn the material especially in English learning. Those teaching media help the teacher present the lesson more clearly and interestingly to be followed by the students (Baidawi, 2016). Visual aid in visual instructional concept is every picture, model, object, or other tools which give real visual experience to the students (Baidawi, 2016). This research aims to identify how effective the learning media is in increasing students 'understanding and developing the media so that the development of students' knowledge increases in learning English. The researchers use a qualitative research method, in which the researchers examine problems by collecting data such as interview, observation, and field practice in elementary schools. The results of this study are the application of Papets (Paper Puppets), a learning media based on audio-visual paper puppets, and the material used as learning media for elementary school students in learning English lessons.
