Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused the digital learning as a routine practice for every student. It has been more than one year since the COVID-19 pandemic began. However, there are many challenges in digital learning and assessment during the COVID-19 pandemic. This paper aims to describe the challenges of digital learning and assessment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: This paper is a literature review. Literature was taken from Science Direct and Google Scholar. The keywords were assessment, challenges, COVID-19, digital learning, and higher education. Screening was done based on the title, abstract, and full text content. Inclusion criteria were full text, review paper, research paper which had at least four from five keywords included. Exclusion criteria were abstract, commentary, and notes. Result revealed that the challenges of digital learning in higher education were unattended students, less attention, and low understanding from digital learning delivery. Assessment choices and model of delivery must be widened, such as giving presentation project to assess the skills of communication and presentation. Lecturers must be more creative to combine many aspects and models of digital learning and assessment to get better result. Conclusion: Challenges in digital learning can come from student and lecturer. Both of them must adapt to many choices and model of digital learning and assessment to get better comprehension.
